Brie and Justin grew up as competitive ski racers one state apart.
Their paths first crossed at the Stratton Mountain School, where Brie
was following her alpine dream and Justin his in cross country. There was a
moment that both remember when they wrestled in the dorm during one
of Brie's overnights at school.
It would be four more years before they would wrestle again, on their
first date, on the front lawn of the Middlebury, Vermont, McDonalds..
but things were different now and they felt a certain magnetism towards the other.

There was a spring full of skiing adventures with friends, and girls
following the boys on kayaking excursions. It was a blissful time and
it continued through the next year while Brie finished her college days
at Middlebury and Justin cut his construction teeth working as a timber
framer.
Travel has been a constant throughout the relationship, including Justin
chasing Brie to New Zealand, and after an extended ski trip to the
West, where they found their beloved Rafter. Brie continued to combine
her passion of skiing with her professional development as a physical
therapist. Justin continued to work in the construction field and in
the winter of 2006 it was Brie who chased Justin to Whitefish, Montana.

Not long after this trip Justin reunited with his cross country ski
passions and took a job as a ski coach at the Green Mountain Valley
School. Brie continued to pursue physical therapy, all over the state
of Vermont and beyond, and started working with the US Ski Team.
After many years together, Brie and the Justin were confronted with a
canyon-like obstacle and their paths separated for almost two years.
During this time of deep emotion and personal exploration they found out
more about their true nature and also realized how strong their ties to the
other were.

After several scattered reunions, they found the compassion to welcome
each back into their lives and love hardened hearts. The ski trips
continued, and they followed more similar shapes then before -- both
with free heels and open minds.

Rafter, Brie and I would love to share the beginning of the rest of our
lives with you and make some turns for the future -- looking forward to
celebrating with you all on the slopes of Haystack!
